Alongside my private counselling practice, I also volunteer as a bereavement counsellor at a local hospice where I help clients work through their grief after experiencing the devastating loss of a loved one. I also work alongside clients who have been diagnosed with a terminal illness. Although this work can be challenging at times it is also incredibly rewarding. I feel both proud and privileged to have the opportunity to support clients as they face their grief and take the difficult steps that allow them to gradually adapt after their personal loss.
I also have specific experience with eating disorders, along with the knowledge and a deep understanding of the psychological issues that drive an individual to hold onto an eating disorder. With compassion, empathy and understanding I can support individuals within this exceedingly complex area.
My Qualifications
I am qualified with a CPCAB (Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body) accredited course assuring a high level of training and competency.
Continual personal development also forms part my commitment to improve my own knowledge in the ever changing field of counselling and psychotherapy. This knowledge plays an important part in my commitment to offer counselling that focuses on the client as a unique individual and I am passionate about incorporating this ethos into my work.
As a qualified counsellor I have regular Supervision. This is to ensure that I am working ethically and it also provides a valuable space to review and enhance my counselling work. Confidentiality is strictly upheld throughout this process.
